Cinque Terre is known as the coastal stretch between the towns of La Spezia and Levanto. It acquired its name by 5 unique villages Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, built on steeply towering sea cliffs, until recently isolated from the rest of the world. Villages can be reached only by foot, by train or by boat. These villages together with the historical port of Porto Venere were declared by UNESCO as WORLD HERITAGE SITE.
